AI Disclosure
Last updated 15 September 2026
Hoopline uses artificial intelligence to create decorative embroidery motifs. We want that to be obvious to you and to anyone who later sees a file made with Hoopline.
What the AI does, and what it does not
| Part of the pattern | How it is made |
|---|---|
| Decorative motif (flowers, frames, animals, borders) | Generated by an AI image model, either for your request or earlier for the Hoopline pattern library |
| Initials and lettering | Typeset in your browser from real font outlines. The AI never draws letters. |
| Line art | Traced automatically from the motif by software in your browser, with lettering added as exact font outlines |
| Content checks | Rule-based filters that refuse brand, crest, document and real-person requests |
How files are labelled
Every file you download carries a machine-readable label:
- PNG files contain an XMP metadata packet with the IPTC property
DigitalSourceTypeset tocompositeWithTrainedAlgorithmicMedia, plus text fields statingAI-Generated: true, the creating tool and a generation reference. - SVG files contain the same XMP statement inside a
<metadata>element, and a description noting the AI-generated motif. - Free plan files also carry a visible “AI-assisted pattern” band.
These labels follow the transparency obligations for AI-generated content in Article 50 of the EU Artificial Intelligence Act, which apply from 2 August 2026, and widely used industry metadata standards. Please do not remove them. Some apps strip metadata when files are re-saved or uploaded; that is outside our control, so we also tell you on screen.
Limits of AI patterns
- Motifs are interpretations. They may not look exactly as you imagined and can contain small irregularities.
- Traced line art simplifies shapes, especially with fewer thread colours. Check it before stitching.
- Patterns are decorative artwork, not stitching instructions.
- Similar settings can produce similar results for different people.
Data and training
We never use what you type or the patterns you make to train AI models. See the Privacy Policy.
